As I near the end of my internship at The Right Spin, I find myself pausing to reflect on a journey that has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. What began as an opportunity to learn more about public relations gradually became an experience that reshaped how I understand teamwork, adaptability and purpose.
One of the first realities I encountered was the fast pace of agency life. Learning to juggle multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously was no small feat. Each project came with its own objectives and stakeholders. There were days when I felt overwhelmed trying to balance competing priorities. Deadlines overlapped, requests shifted and plans evolved, often all at once.

Occasionally, adapting to multiple timelines required me to think on my feet and adjust my approach quickly. What I had planned for the day could change within hours and I learnt that flexibility was not just helpful, but essential. Through this, I began to understand that effective PR work is not about rigid plans, but rather responsiveness, coherence and staying calm amidst constant movement.
What made this learning curve manageable was the enduring support of the team. From guidance on handling tasks to patient explanations when I needed clarity, I never felt alone in the process. The team’s willingness to mentor, share insights and step in when required gave me the confidence to keep trying, even when I made mistakes. Their trust allowed me to take on responsibilities, while their encouragement reminded me that growth often comes from discomfort.
Some of my most cherished moments came from working behind the scenes: supporting client projects at the backend, assisting with coordination and watching individual components come together. Witnessing campaigns progress from planning to execution and knowing I played a small role in that journey was incredibly fulfilling. These shared moments, often quiet and unseen, became some of the most memorable parts of my internship.
Looking back, I came to appreciate the deeper purpose behind the work of The Right Spin. The opportunities I was exposed to reinforce why PR matters, not just in securing coverage, but in shaping narratives that resonate, inform and create lasting value beyond the immediate spotlight. Being part of a collective that strives to make a powerful impact has been both motivating and grounding.
As I conclude my time here, I leave with a greater sense of confidence in my abilities and a clearer understanding of what it means to contribute thoughtfully in a dynamic environment. I have learnt to be more adaptable, attentive and collaborative. Most importantly, I realise that growth is rarely linear; it happens through challenges, support and the people who walk alongside you through the process.
This chapter at The Right Spin has been a fruitful one. It has taught me how to find my rhythm in uncertainty, how to work with intention and how meaningful work is often built quietly, together.
